The First Annual Glades Youth Hockey Street Hockey Shootout was a huge success! Held on Sunday July 25, 2021, the weather broke for a perfect day and a fun event for the whole community.  The shootout featured competition from over 75 players across nearly a dozen teams from the 8U level all the way up to 14U.  Over 300 family members were in attendance in Essex to play various games, eat from the food trucks, and meet with our many exhibitors.

Glades Youth Hockey would especially like to thank our sponsors for this event, including Kevin Smith Sports, as well as the food truck concessions from Yum Foods and Green Mountain Smoothies.  We would like to thank our exhibitors Rice Prep, Elev802, Full Stride, and the Vermont Lumberjacks.

Putting on this type of event is difficult and it would not be possible without a huge group effort and the support of our community.  We would like to extend a huge thanks to MC Bubba Ritchie for his MC duties on the mic and to all of the volunteers who helped set up, run, and take down the event; to Tom Weaver for providing the venue space and to his business neighbors for overflow parking; to Fred Howard of Essex or letting us borrow all of the bails of hay for the day; and lastly a HUGE thank you to Kate Salvatori for her leadership and dedication to organizing this event.
